Why Are Moles, Skunks and Other Animals
Tearing Up My Lawn?

The secret to healthier  plants and a healthier lawn is this: Grub Control. People are always asking what they can do to get rid of moles, or why skunks keep digging up their lawn. Or perhaps you have noticed holes or brown areas in your lawn and don’t know what is causing them.
At Marion Landscape Service, We know the answer.

Japanese Beetles have laid eggs in your lawn and now you have grubs. Grubs alone can destroy your lawn by feeding on the root system of your grass. Then you get the added bonus of all the skunks, moles and other animals shredding up your lawn and digging holes as they feed on the grubs.
At Marion Landscape Service, We have the solution.

TIPS:
• Look for brown patches in your lawn and lift the dead grass at the edge. If you  can lift it up like a piece of  loose carpet or a toupee, you have grubs, you may even see them under the dead grass.
• Walk around the lawn and look for long raised lines which seem to crush as you step on them. These are tunnels dug by the moles which are feeding on grubs.
• Look for signs of animals digging holes and rearing away at your grass (as we mentioned above)

So what's the solution? Many Landscape companies want to sell you Japanese Beetle Control.
At Marion Landscape Service, our approach is just a bit different.

Unless you have a severe infestation, (although we do offer Japanese Beetle Control) why not save some expense  and manage the beetles yourself?
There are several products you can purchase at any lawn and garden center, and simply spray your landscape plants and small trees.
HOWEVER, GRUB CONTROL AND PREVENTION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
